Alok Shukla joined Munich Re as Regional Head of Agriculture in 2021. He is responsible for the Agriculture business of India and sub-continents, Southeast Asia, Japan, and Korea.

Alok has worked extensively in the Agriculture Insurance space and is passionate about the critical topic of food security and farmers’ welfare.

Before joining Munich Re, he was with Bharti AXA General in 2016. He was responsible for setting up the government business division and started offering products like Agriculture and Health insurance. He was also responsible for managing claims functions for all lines of business.

He began his career in 2006 with risk management start-up Weather Risk Management Services and headed up the product and pricing division. Thereafter he worked for the “Centre for Insurance and Risk Management” at IFMR as Head of Livelihood Vertical.

In 2010, he joined Tata AIG General to kick start their journey in the Agriculture insurance space and held various positions, most recently as head of rural vertical.

Alok is a mechanical engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
