Thomas joined Guy Carpenter through the acquisition of JLT Re, having worked there since January 2013. Thomas was heading the International Non Marine Treaty team at JLT Re. His previous roles include 7 years at Aon Benfield and 10 years at Willis within the EMEA team. Thomas represents Guy Carpenter as a member of the Insurance Development Forum (IDF) and is co-leading a project in Algeria, in partnership with the United Nations Development Program of Algeria, AXA, Axa Climate and Swiss Re. The project is focussed on developing a drought parametric product for staple crops and uninsured/ low-income farmers, thereby bolstering the agriculture sector.

Thomas has 27 years of experience in reinsurance broking and he’s responsible for Africa at Guy Carpenter. Thomas was also involved in other Public Private Partnerships in Africa protecting against Natural Catastrophe perils through reinsurance solutions, either on an indemnity or a parametric basis.  He is the main point of contact at Guy Carpenter for SCR and La Cat and a practice leader for all Public Private Partnerships in the MEA region.
