Yvonne is currently the Chief Consultant for Serala Risk Solutions (Proprietary) Limited, a consulting firm based in the Republic of Botswana offering rating diagnostics, actuarial services, training, and in-depth market intelligence. Driven by a passion and desire to become a relevant voice in the insurance industry across Africa, Yvonne decided to start the company to provide tailored made solutions to insurers across the continent, while playing a part in bridging the data gap that exists in the insurance space.

Before starting Serala Risks, Yvonne was the Sector Head for Insurance Ratings at GCR Ratings (an affiliate of Moody’s Investor Services), which is the largest rating agency in Africa. During her time at GCR Ratings, she was responsible for managing the Insurance Sector with a portfolio of over 150 insurers and reinsurers across the Africa continent. Yvonne was also responsible for building and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders in the insurance industry in Africa, as well as publishing thought leadership articles on topical issues within the insurance space. Prior to that, Yvonne was a Rating Analyst at Fitch Ratings (Milan Italy), which is one of the big three rating agencies globally.

Yvonne holds a master’s in business administration (“MBA”) (specializing in international Finance) from the University of Buckingham. She is also an Associate of the Institute of Risk and Management in South Africa.
